YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

 

Hot Vinyasa Flow
Hot Vinyasa Flow is practiced in 95-98 degree heat. 'Vinyasa Flow' is to link breath between each posture, flowing from one movement to the next to create heat and suppleness in the mind and body. Focus is on balance, power, fluidity, flexibility and alignment while continuing to emphasize the fundamentals of yoga. Melt away years of stress and cleanse your body of toxins as you strengthen and stretch. Please arrive well hydrated.

Please note: Thursday 8pm class is our donation class. Drop-in fee not required, minimum donation of $10. Students $5.00. Class cards may be used.

 

Warm Vinyasa Flow
This class incorporates all the same aspects as our Hot Vinyasa, except we turn down the heat. The room will be "warmed" to 80-85 degrees, so if you have never practiced hot yoga before, or you just find the extreme heat too much, give this class a try!

 

Prenatal Yoga
Enter, you and your unborn baby into a calming, warm and relaxing atmosphere that will benefit you both in unlimited ways.  These classes will help you to reduce pregnancy related anxiety, thus helping allow you to enjoy your pregnancy on a deeper level and increase the bond between you and unborn baby.  Did you know, that when you take the time to fully relax, the oxygen supply to your baby increases?

These friendly, and non-competitive classes will  include relaxing breathing techniques, safe & gentle movement and stretches, gentle foot massages, handouts that cover pregnancy related issues ie) heartburn, Kegels swollen legs and feet, etc.  You will also have the opportunity to share your experiences in a safe and supportive environment, and to further explore the miracle of pregnancy and childbirth.

Guided, gentle movements and postures gently massage your baby; creating an inner memory of calmness and relaxation that your baby will carry within them indefinitely.

Prenatal Yoga has been proven to increase the production of endorphins which have very strong pain relieving effects.  It also can increase DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) which not only supports the immune system, but can also enhances brain biochemistry; helping to prevent sadness and depression before and after the birth of the baby. 

Please note:

*You should always receive permission from your Doctor before starting a new exercise.

*Space is limited to ensure an intimate atmosphere.

*If you don't have a current regular yoga practice, it is best to wait until the second semester before starting prenatal yoga.

Yoga Loft Kids
The Yoga Loft would like to introduce YOGA LOFT KIDS for children 5-10 years.  This is a super fun way to introduce yoga to your children because that is exactly how we think yoga should be for kids....ALL fun and games, adventures, stories, creativity........and on top of it all, we incorporate yoga poses into all of our fun and games! Our Yoga Loft Kids teachers are Rainbow Yoga Kids Certified!

Yoga for Tween Girls

The Yoga Loft would like to introduce Yoga for Tween Girls for ages 9-12 years.  A great way to build self acceptance, self esteem, self confidence, and so much more!

The transition from little girl to grown woman often results in a crisis in confidence as young women face media manipulation, uncertain moral standards, heavy peer pressure, academic & career dilemmas. Let's focus on prevention; Yoga can help!

7 week session: Sat May 12th - Sat June 30th
Please Note: There will be NO class on Sat May 19th 
Time: Saturdays 2:30 - 3:30 pm
Ages: 9-12
Price: $70/7 week session

Core and More
Discover your core muscles and get stronger from the inside out. We will focus on the abdominals, back, butts, hips and thighs. The class welcomes all fitness levels and abilities.

StrollerFit for Mom & Baby
Get back into shape with baby. Bring baby and stroller for an hour of cardiovascular exercise and strength training. Power walking, short running drills will be included as well as core training. Lots of variety and options provided to suit all levels. Great way to meet other parents and babies!

Mom and Baby Fitness
Bring your baby to your workout! This baby-friendly environment allows Mom to workout with baby close by. This class offers lots of variety, providing a total body workout. The focus is on abs, core and muscle conditioning. Infants up to 12 months are welcome (pre-crawling please!!)
